Each piece is 16 lines in length composed in the colloquial rhythms of the poet’s voice. These pieces are sequenced into a narrative that tells the story of a dancer’s life from her childhood, her training and her professional career. The book culminates into a spectacular performance for the finale.
Although the poem is not based upon Martha Graham, I fully acknowledges her as an inspiration as one of the greatest dancers and choreographers of all time.
